Working with hospitals and health systems
Europe and America.
Hospitals across Europe and America are short of nurses, midwives and paramedics. We second our own clinicians to them. They are people we employ, working in our own hospitals, held to our standard — and we remain their employer when they arrive at yours.
This is not recruitment. We are not an agency, and we are not introducing you to strangers. The clinicians we place work for MedicSupport. They are in our hospitals today, on our payroll, under our clinical governance. When they work in your hospital they are still ours — which is precisely why you can hold us to something.
What travels with the clinician
The employment relationship
They remain MedicSupport employees. We are the employer, not the receiving hospital acting alone. That relationship does not change when they move, and it is why we can be held to something.
A verified credential record
Every clinician we employ is checked against their registering body. The resulting record is publicly verifiable by anyone, at /verify, without an account and without asking us.
Training in our own hospitals
Our fellows are trained at our own tertiary sites — cardiac catheterisation at Accra, Lagos, Nairobi and Casablanca, advanced imaging at Sandton, emergency retrieval from Cape Town.
Our clinical and governance standard
The standard applied in Accra is applied in Manchester. Group clinical governance, incident reporting and duty of candour apply to our clinicians wherever they are practising.
How a placement runs
- 01
You tell us the requirement
The role, the grade, the ward or specialty, the start date and the duration. If it is a shortage you have already tried to fill, say so — that tells us more than the job description does.
- 02
We come back with our own people
Not CVs we have collected. Clinicians currently employed by the group, in our hospitals, whose registration and fit for the post we can evidence on request.
- 03
Registration and documentation
We handle the destination regulator's requirements for each clinician, and provide the documentation your clinical governance, HR and compliance functions will ask for.
- 04
They arrive and stay accountable
The clinician works in your hospital under your supervision and your policies, and remains ours for employment, registration and clinical governance.
Who is responsible for what
Placements go wrong when nobody has said who owns what. So, plainly:
We remain responsible for
- Employment, contracts and payroll
- Professional registration and its currency
- Access to our clinical governance framework
- Incident reporting and duty of candour for our clinician
- Return, rotation or repatriation if the placement ends
You lead on
- Day-to-day clinical supervision of the placement
- Ward induction and local policies
- Practice in accordance with your regulator's requirements
- Patient safety and clinical governance within your hospital
Against a recruitment agency
| A recruitment agency | MedicSupport Network | |
|---|---|---|
| Who employs the clinician | Usually the agency, on a temporary contract | MedicSupport — a direct employment relationship |
| Where they work today | Unknown to you until they arrive | Our own licensed hospitals, verifiable |
| Credential check | A CV, and whatever the recruiter bothered to do | Checked against the registering body, and publicly verifiable |
| Specialist training | Wherever they last happened to work | Trained at our own tertiary referral centres |
| Who is accountable | Divided, and argued over afterwards | Named, and ours |
| If it goes wrong | A claims process | An employer who still employs them |
The clinicians we place come from 18 facilities we operate across6 countries in Africa and Asia, from a workforce of approximately 7,799 people. They are not pulled from a database. They are colleagues, working in our hospitals, who we are prepared to put their name to.
If you have a vacancy you cannot fill, talk to us.
Tell us the role, the grade, the market and the start date. If we cannot fill it, we will tell you that rather than send you a list.
Clinical governance documentation, professional indemnity arrangements and registration evidence for any proposed clinician are provided on request, per placement.
